The CAMLPR Clinical Microbiology exam is one of the single-field exams administered by the Canadian Alliance of Medical Laboratory Professionals Regulators (CAMLPR). The other single-field exams are Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Histology, Cytogenetics, Molecular Diagnostics, and Cytology.
The Clinical Microbiology exam tests your knowledge of the principles, methods, and interpretation of identifying microorganisms and understanding their clinical significance. This includes testing such as specimen collection and processing, culture and sensitivity testing, Gram staining, microscopy, biochemical identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, molecular methods, quality control, infection prevention, and the use of manual and automated techniques to diagnose infectious diseases and guide patient care.
